I love that our apartment has a dedicated laundry room (with the bonus of a pleasant little window 🌞). It’s definitely not a crisp-white, shiplapped, Pinterest-worthy room but in a lot of apartments we viewed, the washing machine was either in the kitchen or a bathroom, so…I’m thrilled with this lil space.

Dryers aren’t very common here, probably because it’s so dang hot that clothes dry quickly on a drying rack- but it’s also humid so they can get damp. You have to strike a precise balance with the AC temp and fan speed in order to get fully-dried laundry. We took the leap and finally invested in our first dryer a few months ago and it has been life-changing. I can do more than one load of laundry a day! I can clean our sheets and put them back on the bed that night! 💪🏼

Sometimes I think back to our first year of marriage when we picked out a massive, shiny, new Samsung washer and dryer set. It just seemed like what we were supposed to do at the time. Our washer now is probably half the size of what we had then (pictured on the right), and our current dryer has way fewer functions, but they serve us just as well. I do miss liquid laundry detergent and Bounce dryer sheets but at least we have the classic Tide and Downy. 😊

When I was a child, learning about Moses in Sunday school and watching VeggieTales and The Prince of Egypt, I thought of places like the
