We LOVE having visitors. It’s humbling to be a part of showing people this place and watching it exceed their expectations. My parents were the first to visit us in Dec 2018, two months after Ezra was born. (Yea it took a baby for them to make the transatlantic trip.) The pic above was taken during a hiking trip with my parents when Sean also invited a group of friends as a surprise for my 30th birthday. It was such a memorable night. We hosted Sean’s dad next in Jan 2019.
Letting our parents into our lives for a couple weeks helped to assuage any concerns or fears they had about our wellbeing here. We took them to our favorite restaurants, malls, and outdoor spots, and they also got to meet a good portion of our friends. Now they can picture who we’re talking about when we share stories. They can also explain to the rest of our family and the people back home what our daily life is like.

When our parents decided to make the trip, we had to go through a semi-extensive process to get their “family visas” issued so they’d be able to enter the country. Parents were the only ones allowed to visit. No siblings or friends. But that changed this past September when the country opened up to tourists and introduced online tourist visas that could be issued within minutes!

So once flights resume, come one come all! We have a charming guest room and a desire to share Saudi’s beauty. It’s so much sweeter to share the places you love with the ones you love. 💕🌍
