Today I’m starting a #100DayProject to document our life in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 🌞🌴 Each day I’ll share a photo and brief caption (hold me accountable! I’m not great at sticking with projects) with the goal of telling our story at this time in life right now.
This photo was taken in my favorite room of our house – the playroom. I love the afternoon sun streaming in through big windows, the oversized comfy couch and the colorful toys and books, but I also love how it’s a testament to how much has changed for us in the last 2.5 years since moving to Jeddah. We came as fresh-faced young’uns, excited for the challenge of living in a completely new and foreign place and not sure if we would even make it a year. But God made it clear this is where we’re supposed to be, and now it’s where our two boys were born 👶🏻👶🏻, where we’ve connected with so many other young families, and where we’re turning our apartment into a home.
Over the next 100 posts I’m looking forward to intentionally being creative and revealing the beauty of our Saudi expat life – in the everyday and the exciting. Though we can see the sparkling Red Sea from our apartment and drive 30 minutes to sand dunes with camels, not every day is an adventure – recently our days consist of endless diapers and trying to put the babies to bed early so we can watch Tiger King.
Regardless, I want to do justice to this season of life and document the important memories of building a home in a foreign country and raising two little ones. I also want to share with you – our friends and family – so you can get an authentic glimpse into our life, learn about Saudi culture, and maybe be inspired to tell your own stories. 🐪 🇸🇦
